Lists you may not use

• Purchased, rented, traded, appended or scraped phone numbers.
• Numbers collected for one purpose and reused for another, such as order updates reused for promotions without marketing consent.
• Contacts who opted out, unless they opted back in themselves.
• Contacts collected by a third party or affiliate and shared with you.

Content you may not send

• Sex, hate, alcohol, firearms and tobacco or vaping content (the carrier "SHAFT" categories), unless the use case is registered and approved, with age gating where required.
• Cannabis, CBD, kratom or illegal drug content, of any kind.
• High-risk financial offers: payday or short-term loans, debt relief, credit repair, crypto offers and get-rich-quick schemes.
• Gambling or sweepstakes, unless registered and approved.
• Phishing, impersonation, fraud, deceptive links or link shorteners carriers block.
• Harassment, threats, illegal content, or content that infringes others' rights.
• Political messages, unless registered for that use case.

Events and nightlife

Event promotion for venues that serve alcohol is allowed. Keep messages about the event, not alcohol promotions, and texts that do mention alcohol must be age-gated to 21+ audiences.

How you must send

• Identify your brand in the message.
• Include opt-out instructions in the first message and regularly after that.
• Respect quiet hours and reasonable frequency.
• Don't rotate numbers, use unregistered senders or try to get around carrier filtering or Encore Text controls.

Enforcement

We watch for spikes in opt-outs, complaints and failed messages. We may pause sends, ask for proof of consent, review content before release, or close the account. We may report illegal activity to carriers and authorities. Report abuse to support@encoretext.com.
