How Encore Text keeps you compliant

Compliance is built into every step, from import to send. Read the full rules in our Acceptable Use Policy, SMS Terms and Privacy Policy. Questions? support@encoretext.com

Consent ledger

Every contact carries how, when and where they agreed to receive texts. Each opt-in, opt-out and consent change is written to a permanent consent record that is kept for at least three years, so you can answer a carrier or legal request quickly. Imports require you to confirm that every contact gave consent.

STOP, HELP and ARRET

Replies like STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT and the French ARRET or DESABONNER opt the person out right away and send one confirmation. HELP gets an automatic reply with your brand and contact. START opts a person back in. Opted-out contacts are skipped on every future send.

Quiet hours

Messages are timed to each recipient's own time zone, based on their area code. Texts that would land overnight wait and go out at 8 AM local time.

Toll-free verification

Every workspace gets its own toll-free number, included with no setup fees. We submit carrier verification for you. Verification usually takes 3–10 business days, and sending stays paused until it is approved.

Canada (CASL)

Messages to Canadian recipients include a link to your sender information page with your business name and contact details, and Canadian sends are blocked until those details are complete. Implied consent is tracked with its expiry, and expired contacts are skipped. Quebec recipients get a French-content reminder.

List cleaning

New numbers can be checked before you send so landlines and invalid numbers are removed, which protects your delivery rate and avoids wasted credits.

Spend caps and reviews

Each workspace has a spend cap, and every campaign shows its cost before it goes out. Only owners and admins can approve a send, and each campaign gets a compliance review for opt-out language, brand identification and risky content before release.

What you must do

  • Only text people who gave you clear consent. Marketing texts need prior express written consent.
  • Never use purchased, rented, shared or scraped lists.
  • Identify your brand and include opt-out instructions in your messages.
  • Keep proof of how each person opted in, and share it if a carrier or regulator asks.
  • Follow our Acceptable Use Policy and the laws that apply to you, such as the TCPA, CTIA guidelines and CASL.
